An exciting and adventurous trip to Costa Rica is in the works for East Pennsboro Area High School students during June 2009. The trip is open to any students who wish to go. The cost is $1,811 in exchange for what seems to be a truly enriching experience. Those who go will be introduced to a new culture; students who take Spanish classes will have a chance to talk with native speakers. “In 2007, we took the students to Spain. I chose Costa Rica because I think it will be unique and a more active trip, opposed to just visiting monuments and museums,” said Senora Kroh. The nine-day trip is jam packed with different activities including: relaxing in the hot springs, kayaking on a lake, and exploring the Santa Elena Cloud Forest. Students will also have the option of horseback riding on the beach, going to Manuel Antonia National Park, and the folklore evening. Sophomore Kelsey Tatge is planning on going next year. “I’m really excited because it sounds fun and I think it would be a good traveling experience,” she said. There will be one chaperone for every six students and Senora Kroh will need an initial group of five students to sign up by the end of May 2008 in order to reserve their spot. However, you will still be able to sign up as late as January of next year. The whole trip is planned through Educational Tours. If you are interested in going on the trip to Costa Rica, you can get all the information you need from Senora Kroh. |
