The East Pennsboro Area High School swimming team is in a slump following three consecutive losses. The losses were to Big Spring High School, Northern High School, and Mechanicsburg High School. "They were three of the top five teams in our division," sophomore Alex Price said, "and all had above .500 records." The Panthers fell to 2-4 after those losses. They look to break the streak on Tuesday, January 29, when they compete against Trinity High School in another division match-up. "Trinity is one of the top teams and we are slumping, so I am not very optimistic," sophmore Stone Cordeiro said. They need to stay focused and not slack off if they want to overcome the current losing streak. "Yes [we can break the slump], if everybody tries hard," Cordeiro said. Each meet consists of 11 different types of races, including freestyle, breaststroke, individual medley, and relays. The races range from 50 meters to 400 meters. "The races can last anywhere from 25 seconds to 10 minutes," Price said. |
