The East Pennsboro Area High School Varsity basketball team lost another close game on Tuesday January 22, when they traveled to Boiling Springs.
The Panthers, who were underdogs in this match-up, came close but still lost by 5. It was a 43-38 defeat. “It was a pretty physical game,” said Junior Charlie Heisley. On Thursday January 24, the Panthers were looking for a big upset against Cedar Cliff, but throughout the game Cedar Cliff’s talent and size was just too much for them. When the Panthers were down 33-10 at half time, it was easy to see that they just couldn’t hang with them. Junior Shawn Myers enjoys watching the games. “The team has talent; they just can’t put it together,” Myers said. The fans can play a big part in a basketball game. Especially if the team is down, the cheering lets them know they are still in it. Sometimes, the fans believe they can win more than the players do. This is a good thing because if you are playing, you know they will always have your back. |
