Senior Jeremy Franczak, along with many other EPHS swimmers will be attending the meet against Trinity, Mechanicsburg, Boiling Springs, Northern and Big Springs. “I think we’ll do well,” said Franczak. “We’ll obtain some medals.” East Pennsboro has at least one swimmer in every event, and Franczak will be competing in two: the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Individual Medley. These races consist of two laps of butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle. Four people compete in the Medley Relay, each taking two of the eight total laps. The individual Medley is the same race, with only one competitor. Junior David Magaro participated in the Mid-Penns Diving Conference last Saturday, February 2 at Big Springs High School. He won first place. Magaro participates in age group diving, and has competed for East Pennsboro Area High School the past three years. He has participated at Mid-Penns all three years as well. “I think we usually do pretty decent in swimming; we’ve got some strong swimmers,” said Magaro. “I know we always win in diving.” Magaro plans to continue diving, and he even hopes to compete in college. “Districts are February 20- if you’re cool, you should come cheer us on,” said Magaro. |
