East Pennsboro Area High School’s Varsity softball team has accomplished their goal of making it to districts and will be playing the week of May 12th. They have two games left against Central Dauphin and Camp Hill before playoffs. Senior Renee Guida says, “We have been practicing by fielding balls, batting, and various drills.” The coaches this year are Clayton Ash, Frank Duncan, and Andrew Dively. Some of the top varsity players this year are Kacie Duncan, Allie Garlinger, Brianna Ash, Renee Guida, Jenny Staub, and Bonnie Pietropaoli - all of whom are seniors. Junior Ashley Marsh says, “I think next year we will struggle at the beginning with the loss of six players, but eventually we’ll all click.” Overall, it seems that the bonding between this team is what has really brought them together for their success this season. “I had a wonderful season. I think as a team we all had great chemistry,” says Guida. Marsh says, “The best thing about softball is definitely the chemistry with teammates.” |
