East Pennsboro Area High School’s math teacher, Mark Morris, gets rave reviews from his students as well as athletes.
“I love teaching here. The kids are awesome and a lot of fun,” Morris said. Morris graduated with a major in Math education from Shippensburg University. Shortly after graduating, Morris taught at Harrisburg Middle School. After three years at Harrisburg, Morris came here to East Penn. “I really like Mr. Morris. He is easy to talk to about everything from school to sports,” sophomore Matt Porter said. This is Porter’s first year having Morris as a teacher. He has him for Honors Algebra II, and says the class is hard, but fun at the same time. “We take notes everyday and have homework each night, but Morris makes it easy,” Porter said. Along with teaching math, Morris is the offensive coordinator of East Penn’s Varsity football team. “The boys are tons of fun. I enjoy coaching them and being able to bond with them outside of school,” Morris states about the football team. Not only does he coach for the high school team, but is also very involved in his children’s lives as well. Morris is the head coach of his son’s pony baseball team, assistant coach of the peewee football team and assistant coach of both his son’s and daughter's basketball teams. “I am a big family guy. I love having the summers off to spend everyday with my kids; it makes life more enjoyable,” Morris said. |
