As seniors count the days left in high school, they prepare to start fresh in their new lives. “It’s stressful right now, but we all know it will pay off,” explained senior Abby Copella, referring to planning for graduation. “Right now I’m just concentrating on graduating,” another senior, Adam Waldman, stated. Many seniors, however, are not as concerned. “I don’t have a lot of work, and I never do much outside of school,” said senior Jen Geiger. At this point in their lives, students also feel pressure to decide what to do with their futures. Some set their goals high. “I plan to major in biological sciences,” Copella explained. “Hopefully I can get into medical school and eventually become a plastic surgeon.” Others don’t have as clear an idea. “I keep changing my mind. I haven’t figured out what I want to do yet,” stated Geiger. Seniors pick their colleges based on a variety of factors. Students consider distance, price, academic standards, size, and many other things. “I’m going to HACC, because I can live at home,” said Waldman. “I wanted to go to Penn State, because it’s so nice there. It’s a good campus, and I have friends there, too,” explained Copella. |
