One Friday morning a month, students at East Pennsboro Area High School have adopted a new tradition. One Friday morning a month, students and teachers walk down to Coffee Friday. Teacher Lauren Dominiani and student Ashly Duskey tell us how they prepare for and operate Coffee Friday to make it such a success.

Coffee Friday is a day when studentsi n the Learning Support room transform their room into a cafe style setting. They sell different kinds of drinks, pastries, fruit and much more.This idea was first introduced by teacher Amy Baker in the 2005-2006 school year and has been a hit ever since.

“We make a very good profit. We spend around $100 to $200 and make $400 to $500,” teacher Lauren Dominiani said.

“I take turns with Jesse on register, hand out muffins with Darlene and take turns filling up drinks,” Duskey said when asked what are the jobs she does.

“I think it is a good activity. I’m glad that it gives them contact with the school and teaches them a job and social skills,” said Dominiani when asked ,as a teacher, what her favorite part of the program was.
