Some East Pennsboro students went to Dallastown High School to audition for District Band on Saturday December 1. “Its one of the hardest things these kids will practice all year,” said East Pennsboro Band Director William Ennis. “It all comes down to who does the best in the tryouts; only the best can go.” The tryout songs come in late spring and the auditions are in the first week of December. The festival is held in February, when all the rehearsals and concert are held. “It should be a great concert,” said Ennis. Junior Brandon Isham was the only student to make District Band from East Penn. “I had a really great time; it was worth it.” said Isham, who now has made District Band two years in a row. He finished in a close second place. “I lost by only .25 of a point,” said Isham. Junior Emily Arcuri also auditioned. “I had a good time; it was a cool experience to see all of the best players in the district come together to do what they are best at,” said Arcuri. “By trying out for District Band it made me a better musician.” |
