It seems that more and more people are either getting hit by or throwing food at lunch. Senior Ian Barry has been hit during lunch this year by "various objects." Fellow senior Taylor Nieves said, “Anything being served could be thrown.” With the endless variations of food that could be thrown, teachers try to control the fights, but it can be hard to catch someone in the act. Nieves said, “Mr. Mulhauser tries to stop it, but all that usually happens is a lunch detention.” Barry does not see an end to the food throwing anytime soon, but hopes he can avoid anything messy. Although Barry said, “When Mrs. Acri was patrolling the cafeteria, she was somewhat effective.” When a student is hit with some sort of food, it can almost always be expected that they will retaliate by throwing food back. With this vicious cycle, one can only hope it will soon come to an end. |
