East Pennsboro Area High School’s Spanish Club recently traveled to Washington, D.C. for an educational field trip.
Senora Bosnyak chaperoned the Spanish Club students and several Spanish III students who went to learn about Spanish culture. Each year, the club funds a trip for several students to expand their area of study. At 7:30 am on March 26, students boarded a bus and headed to D.C. to return at 9:00 pm. “While in D.C., students visited the Mexican Cultural Institute, which was previously the Mexican Embassy. They went to lunch to enjoy a natural Spanish lunch. Afterwards, they visited the Smithsonian Museum and other malls and museums pertaining to the history and culture of the Spanish,” Bosnyak said. For dinner, students enjoyed an authentic El Salvadorian meal. When asked if excited for this trip, student Candace Heller responded with an enthusiastic, “Yes.” Heller said, “It was a lot of fun and we got to see a lot of interesting works of art and try many different foods that we probably would not have tried on our own.” Each club member paid $25 for the trip and the other students had to pay $50. The students seemed to enjoy the trip and also learned a lot. |
