East Pennsboro students competed on Saturday February 2, at Mechanicsburg High School for the Memory Team State Championship.

Brice Morey came in first place in playing cards, and has been a member of Memory Team for two years.

“There are five categories:  names & faces, random words, poetry, numbers and cards,” said Morey.

Morey's favorite category is cards.

“I am a visual learner. I look at the card and then I can recall it,” said Morey.

The Memory Team competes for Discover credits, and they say that it is a good bonding time with each other.

“We compete once a year for Pennsylvania State Championships,” said Morey.

Brice is not the only member of the team. Kaitlin Gibson, Jacob Hartwig, Shannon Kelley, Capri Morey and Rajit Krishnamurthy are also a part of Memory Team.

“We are not sure if we are able to compete at nationals because the musical, The Pirates of Penzance,  might interfere with going,” said Morey.
