On Monday, December 17th, Mrs. Karen Rowe filled in for Mr. Goshorn and became a long-term substitute. Mr. Darcy Goshorn was a very, well-liked teacher. Many of his students enjoyed his class. Even though he is still in the building, his presence as an English and Publications teacher will be greatly missed. When asked how she liked Mr. Goshorn for English, Sophomore Taylor Byrnes said, "He was one of my favorite teachers." Rowe is a very qualified person for this line of work. She was a teacher for five years after she got out of college but decided to become a pharmaceutical representative. Although she was a pharmaceutical representative for some time, she really thinks teaching is an important line or work and really enjoys retuning to the job. “I don’t think people should have the same job their entire life,” Rowe said. Rowe trained to be a teacher at Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania. While she was in high school, there were many teachers who encouraged her to become a teacher. She really enjoys teaching now that she has returned to the career. “My job is challenging students to think differently,” Rowe said, when asked what her favorite part of teaching is. |
